| Transport: Buses run from Picton to Christchurch daily. Ask the driver if they stop for a quick look at the seals. |
| Driving Instructions: From kaikoura driver north on highway 1 to Picton for 25 Km to half moon Bay. From there on drive slowly and look along the coast for seals. There are a number of car parks along the coastal side of the road. |
| Camping on track: There are two motor camps south of the seal colony. |

When the seals are breeding, go for a walk up the Ohau Waterfall track, you'll find young seals swimming at the base of the waterfall.
